In 1968, in a small town called Paper Valley, Pennsylvania, an aspiring writer Silkel (Zoe Margaret Colletti) and her two teenage friends Auggie (Gabriel Rush) and Chuck (Austin Zazur) made a “bomb” out of feces, garbage and other materials on Halloween night and threw it at the car of the school bully Tommy (Austin Abrams). When the angry Tommy wanted revenge and chased after them, Raymond (Michael Garza) helped Silkel and the others at the critical moment. In search of excitement, Stella, Chuck and Auggie brought their new friend Raymond to a haunted house. This house belonged to the Bellows family many years ago. They were the founding family of the town and operated a paper mill here, which is why the town got its name. A mysterious girl named Sarah (played by Katherine Pollard) once lived in the Bellows family villa. She was tortured by her family and locked in a dark room alone and was not allowed to go out. Lonely Sarah told some children horror stories through the wall, but some children who heard her stories suddenly died, which caused panic and anger among the residents of the town. Sarah finally hanged herself with her hair before being caught by the mob. Stella accidentally discovered Sarah’s storybook and took it home, but she didn’t know what kind of nightmare this storybook would bring her…
