Moscow, 1930s. The famous writer at the beginning of his career suddenly finds himself at the center of a literary scandal. Soon after, he meets Margarita, who becomes his lover and music lover. Inspired by her love and support, the author begins to write a new novel, in which the characters are people from his surroundings, and the main character is the mysterious Woland, who becomes the protagonist of a recently met foreigner. The author enters the world of his novel with his head in his head and gradually stops noticing how fiction and reality are intertwined.
