On the evening of October 15, a Thai woman fell to her death from the 12th floor of an apartment in Rama 9, Bangkok. She was said to have had an argument with her boyfriend before the incident. Hua Mark Police Station received a call at around 10 pm that night and immediately launched an investigation. The woman, who was only 25 years old and whose name has not yet been released, was found near the swimming pool on the 5th floor of the 36-story building.
The woman’s body was in a supine position, with an injured right ankle. She was wearing black underwear and a top without a bra, which initially made witnesses suspect that she might have been sexually assaulted.
Preliminary investigations showed that the deceased lived with her boyfriend in an apartment on the 12th floor. At the time of the incident, witnesses saw the man standing on the balcony and the woman fell from the balcony.
A neighbor told the media that before the woman fell from the building, she heard the two quarreling fiercely, and then heard the woman screaming. To prevent accidents, the neighbor also recorded the noise as evidence.
The police took the boyfriend back to the police station for questioning and searched their residence to collect evidence. During the questioning last night, the man admitted that the two quarreled because of jealousy. He said that his girlfriend had threatened to jump off the building and commit suicide many times before, and this time he failed to stop her, leading to the tragedy.
